Server Shutting Down if Donation Goal Not Reached

I've been covering our shortfall the past few months because our traffic was so low and I didn't have much time to fix it. However now there is no excuse. Server is busy and I've been making fixes and adding features. So for every dollar we are short at the end of this month, I'll shut the server off for an hour. So if we are short $70 we get shutdwon for 70 hours.
I hate to make threats but common now - you all can't keep playing on my dime here! Those who have already donated - I appreciate it! The rest - please donate!
I also just purchased 8GB of RAM for our webserver/database server. We need to cover those costs as well. Extra RAM should help with the spawn lag once installed.

Looking for new Redirectors

We are looking for some people who are willing to test out our redirector software. Anyone interested can earn up to 31 credits per month for running the software. Since we are in testing stages there are a few requirements that some people may not feel comfortable with. They are:
- We would like the software to run 24/7
- I'd like to install a program to allow me remote access to the machine for testing purposes (will be uninstalled when testing is complete)
- You must have a router that you have access to change some settings - or you must have uPnP enabled if you do not have access to the router
- Wired connections vs. Wireless connections are preferred
- System can use up to 5GB of bandwidth a month so make sure your ISP doesn't have extremely low bandwidth caps.
- A decent router that doesn't lock up on you every few days
- An account on this website
- No DialUp!
- We extremely interested in people in who live in (ordered by importance) Southern States (Florida, Texas, etc), Central North America, Western North America, Central + South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia . These are areas I'd like to expand our user base into as most of our players are from Ontario and surrounding areas. With more people from more areas we should have more time zones and thus more players during a broader time period. If you are in on of these special areas let me know and I'll give you a bit extra incentive to sign up.

Server Move + Fix

Remember the future move I've been bragging about since like forever? Well it has now happened. Actually it happened a few weeks ago. Unfortunately during the move we also ran into some hardware problems as well so I never mentioned the new location as I felt people would assume the problem was with the new host and think we had gotten a worse deal (people always assume they know what causes lag and even though I find 99% of the time they are wrong - they still defend their opinion as if it were fact!).
Server is now located at Peer1's main facility in Toronto. We have a 1Gbps internet connection. The chances of our network going down is very slim. The facility itself is very top notch. You can checkout Peer1's little promo here:
I'm currently working on getting access to the facility site, however they require some background information so I'm waiting for them to process that. In the meantime I've had to get our host to fix our server issues since I am not yet allowed access.
They tracked the server problems to Intel's SpeedStep technology. The machine was purposely under-clocking itself from 2.4Ghz to 1.2Ghz to save power. Since we do not run a Windows based system, we did not have the drivers to force SpeedStep to clock itself to its proper speed. Why this problem occurred our of the blue - I am not sure. However disabling SpeedStep in the BIOS seems to have solved our lag troubles we have been having the past few weeks.
Basically I've seem my own ping go from 40 to about 15-25ms. I know a few people who have seen similar drops. It won't get any better than this. We are now located in one of the best facilities in Canada!
So give yourself all a pat on your back. We are finally at the top!
In other news - I've re-written our redirector software. It is not functioning much better and we are once again busy. Seems Valve changed their Master Server list to blacklist anyone who tries to run more than 15 servers within a 12 hour period. We were getting blacklisted. I finally tracked down the rules and I've written in a limiter to insure our redirectors will never become black listed by registering too many servers to quickly. We also are running more redirectors than ever. I will soon be releasing a version anyone can run at home. It is very efficient - using only 1-2% CPU and about 20MB of RAM and runs in the background. I've been beta testing it on the 13 machines we have now. There are still a few minor issues I'm working out but should be solved shortly and I'll release to the general public.

VironCS Modless Server

I am proud to announce a new server hosted by Vir's Pub and MonctonCS targetted towards that user who hates mods or a regular who wants to get a break from ours. The server has limited mods - the very basics. The idea behind this server is to only offer mods that do not affect standard CS 1.6 rules and gameplay. It is still a work in progress however you can give it a shot.
Right now admin access is tied to Vir's Pub's list of admins. We plan to change this as this server will be run independantly from Vir's Pub and MonctonCS. If it takes off we will be creating a website for it and it will have it's own administrator/management system.

Also due to this launch we have juggled servers around and the IP's of many of our other servers have changed. I have updated the website to reflect these new IP addresses.

Admin and Regular Level Move

As for admins, I have deactivated admin for everyone not in the new system. For whatever reason no one really responded to my emails so we currently have two ultimate, two advanced and two basic level administrators. Seems we have a shortage of admins so things are going to suck until everyone follows the process and contacts me about moving over.
I will keep the admin offers open for one week from today. Any admin that does not contact me before that time will be removed and will not be able to claim their current rank.
We cannot have inactive admins who don't visit our website at least once every two weeks. That's no good!
