**Note** When you donate to the server, your donating to the server cause, NOT to recieve admin. Admin is only a prize you can use credits to 'buy' and it can be removed if abused.
We are a large server now and we require donations for the server to continue to ensure it is kept up to date, maintained and cheater free! I've thought a lot about how I'm going to work this out as I've seen other servers implement this in a terrible manner and it nearly ruined the server. So this is what I have planned.
When you donate for every dollar you donate you get ten credits in your account. You can use these credits to add, upgrade, or extend different levels of administration.
This is a breakdown of how many credits it takes to get admin:
(R) Regular - Free
(RX) Regular Extreme - 25 Credits
(B) Basic - 30 Credits
(G) General - 40 Credits
(A) Advanced - 50 Credits
(UA) Ultimate - 75 Credits
(XA) Xtreme - 100 Credits
There are also other ways you can obtain credits. Currently the only three ways we have working is to donate, upload maps or play on the server. For every 3 hours you play you receive one credit. You will receive 5 credits for every map that successfully uploaded. We also plan to give credits for every post in the forum as well as for every bug submitted in our bug tracker.
So what's all this money going to go to? Well first off the website is costing me $20 a year for the domains so a bit will go directly to that. Other expenses include:
- Upgrades to the Server
- Cost to drive to the location for repairs/upgrades
- Server Co-Locatin costs
- IP block management costs
- Routing Costs
If you do decide to donate - there is a admin structure to follow. The lowest admin level must listen to the one above it. If an G Admin makes a decision, the basic admins MUST adhere to it. Also I expect lower admins to ask the higher admins for permission BEFORE they do something that will affect the players in the game. This includes things such as:
Changing the map
Kicking/Banning a player
Starting a special vote
If you are a basic admin and your the only admin on, you have free reign of the server. If there is a basic and general admin online, the general admin makes all the decisions.
Q: What about the current Admins? Will they be required to pay?
A: We will be slowly moving everyone over the the new paid system. We will be moving current admins over on a case by case basis. Each person will be able to work a deal as long as they are reasonable and show me a good reason why I should accept their proposals.
Q: What if someone who pays for admin becomes abusive?
A: Post a message in the forum under the admin complaints board. It will be looked into. If we feel that person has crossed the line, they will be removed as admin with no compensation for their donation what-so-ever
Q: As an admin can I slap/slay/kick anyone when I feel like it?
A: No! We only want you to use your admin commands to make the server a better place. Don't do anything out of anger. Think of your decision before you follow through with it.
