Hey guys and gals!
The past two moths have been amazing on donations and we cleared our goals completely. However we are a bit low this month. We have revieved around $50 of the $200 we need each moth. Please keep in mind we only need to pay $200 for the next 3 months (including this month) and we are caught up on payments and then we only need $100. I know times are rough - heck I just found out today I've run out of EI benifits so I have 0.0 income - but if we want a server we all need to pitch in because if you are looking at me to pay for this then you are looking at the wrong guy!
So pllleeease donate. Even $5 or $10 helps. We all know you spend more on a movie and popcorn - or even a decent sized mcdonalds meal. So please donate to us cause I know you spend a lot more time on Vir's than you do eating or watching a movie in a week!
Thanks guys!

Hey guys! Some of you may have noticed a new Webmail link on the top and main menu's. Well we not offer POP3, IMAP and Webmail for a new domain I purchased just for this. The domain is virs.ca. Nice simple and short. If you want one just click the webmail link and you will see an option to register a new email. The email will match your virspub.ca website username. I had to do this to avoid anyone trying to register multiple emails. Keeping it wide open is a huge security risk.
Be aware if I am made aware of ANY illegal activity or abuse you will be banned from my site and depending on the level of illegal activity I have NO qualms about reporting it to the authorities. This is a legit operation here!
Anyway guys - have a go. If you are an admin - I will be giving away virspub.ca emails to you guys. virspub.ca will be the 'official' email where as virs.ca will be for the players. If you prefer a virs.ca email by all means - sign up!
Report any problems to me. I hand scripted the registration process so it may have bugs.

I have upgraded our website to the newest version of Joomla as well as the forums to the new "Kunena" forum (Fireboard changed their name). I had to install a new template for the forums as well. If you see any problems/glitches let me know ASAP so I can fix them up.
We are no longer running in 1.0 Joomla native mode so the website should be a lot more responsive and quick.
So far it all seems to be going fairly smoothly.

Hey guys!
We have done really well this month in regards to paypal but we do need roughly $50 more to bring us up to where we need to be so if you have not donated yet for August then please do. I am sure we will get there.
Thanks!
Upload Maps on Your Own!

Some people may have noticed some lag today and yesturday and were probably wondering WTH is going on. Well I apologize that was me creating something for everyone to use. I am now reasonably confident with the progress I have made and I am now giving it a public go.
I have created a new Vir's Pub Map uploading service. It's really quite simple. Find a map your like. Download it to your computer (make sure it's a zip file) then open the liink to the service, click browse, select your map file, then click upload. Your map will be uploaded and installed on the server INSTANTLY. Also the service has some built in smarts. The zip files DO NOT need to have correct directory structure. The program will search the .BSP file, find out what files are needed and where they should be located and will search your ZIP file to make sure they are all included. If files are missing it will stop the map upload and let you know what files need to be added to the ZIP for the process to be completed.
Anyway guys give it a go at:

If there are any bugs please let me know.
